haha what has the world become.. i mean the world of internet. how much it has changed. i can still remember my transition from using the bad old dial up internet connection service to this badass broadband connection which to some extent, sucks even more :@ back then during the dialup days i thought, how nice it would be to have my msn logged in all the time. seemed like a luxury then. really. well, i believe you know whats coming next right haha. i hardly log in my msn live messenger nowadays haha. hardly twice in a week. in fact i have long parted with messenger until recently when a friend of mine persuaded me to get back. haha then i got reminded why i parted msn the moment i logged in...TRASH messages from whoever whatever viruses like wth. bennieroots92@hotmail.com...callashdkhkahdsakj@hotmail.com whatever.. like i know them. just when i thought the problem only occurs in msn, someone sent me sth on that instant chat service provided by facebook. hoho.. you know what im driving at rite? yeap.. that is.. its the only matter of time before facebook ends up like msn, frolicked with viruses and what not. well, its not jus me and my premonition. i have examples to backup my point de okay =D my tagboard is also infested with scary names which/who thinks they know me or hopes i think i know them so that i would click on their link embedded on their names. anw back to topic. should we be that wary of singularity?? worried about robots taking over humans. while in today's context we may not need to.. but we may need to. jus remembered about some news some days ago.. saying some British or some scientists in Europe have just invented some robots which can learn.. ON ITS OWN haha just like a human being. forget about artificial intelligence because these robots have human-like curiosity and learning capabilities..well if ure still not worried, the difference between robots and human beings is that robots have a better chance of outlasting human beings in terms of lifespan. well if ure still not worried then u have to, because will-smith's said.. :D that robots are jus clocks and gears.that they have no heart =O so imagine a world taken over by such beings which has no regards to emotional feelings. that may be true for now..cant say much about the future. anw from so called smart/ingenious scientists' point of view, the way we think and feel are just end products of mathematical algorithms/expressions. if so, its just a matter of time, again, before robots will have 'hearts' like we do too.

from the way things are now, car makers like volvo are making smarter cars which promise better and better safety measures!.. cars will soon drive on their own. jus a note though, when accidents happen, who is to blame?

rdpd is like a nursery textbook for ppl like me to be f literate.
98% of the terms used can be understood easily.
unlike other books of the same genre, it doesnt narrate what u should do step by step.
the author(s) tries to bring the msg across through little stories, anecdotes, scenarios and simple diagrams.
its not obvious. but thats the point. readers generate their own points.
readers dont just absorb. they think along the way. well at least for me.
i've read the teenagers' version before i read this-anddd even though rdpd teenagers' version is the first book i've ever completeed in my life (at the age of 17 ^^.. and yes i didnt complete animal farm)-i prefer the latter to the former onez ^^

wanna buy lga775 desktops? its the time to get 1 now! videopro even came out with their own diy sets. i believe big companies will leash out even cheaper deals as well, cos of their custom mobos/parts which are cheapos x)

good news is that i believe lga 775 chips can last for at least another 2-3 years. till then i5's prices will drop dramatically, then that will be a chance too good for us to upgrade at that time. without much advantage at the current tech, its nice to stick, or even upgrade to 775 cos multi cores pwn solo cores. but be careful, though clock speeds are impt. for 775 chips, u will have to consider front side bus ( as told by indian lady at sim lim) speeds and clockspeeds tgt. cos both are determinants of the performance.

but overall, for the most bang out of eh buck, choose amd =) though theyre laggin behind, but they do have awesome multi core cpus at under 100sgd (athlon II series) omg. so cheap. then u can invest more on better mobos for things like dual graphics caards etc.. gaming doesnt need tonnes of horsepower, but they do need alot of graphics power. but talking about video editing and stuff, get intel.
